Dr. Asha V. Sakolkar, a distinguished gynecologist and social reformer from Maharashtra, has been selected to represent India at the 11th Annual Subcommittee Meeting of the Committee of Permanent Representatives at the UN office in Nairobi, Kenya, from July 8-12, 2024.
Dr. Sakolkar has had a notable career in both the medical field and social advocacy. She has served as the Chairperson of the Science, Technology, and Environment Cell of the Maharashtra government and is known for her work in women’s health, including the Sanjeevani Health Card project aimed at reducing maternal mortality (UNP100) (Sakolkar Hospital).
Dr. Sakolkar is also the Managing Director of Sakolkar Life Sciences & Research Centre and has made significant contributions to stem cell therapy and child brain stimulation. Her efforts have earned her numerous awards and recognition in both healthcare and social services
